This program will provide participants with an overview of the theory and legislation regarding WHMIS as well as an understanding of the respective roles and responsibilities of the Employer, Supplier and Worker. In addition, participants will also be able to:

• Identify the six classes and eight symbols associated with controlled products
• Determine how hazardous substances can enter the body
• Distinguish between supplier and workplace labels
• Understand the various sections on a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
• Understand control measures including “at the source,” “along the path,” and “at the worker.”
